🌿 How It Works

The Genestreaming AR Sculpture + Nature Journaling project connects communities across Australia and beyond—creating new ways to engage with tourism, conservation, education, and the visual arts.

At its heart is a national trail of Genestreaming Augmented Reality (AR) Sculptures—digital art experiences shaped by community participation and inspired by the unique ecology of each region.

Local governments, tourism businesses, schools, and conservation organisations are invited to subscribe and host their own regional sculpture. Each sculpture is accessible via a unique QR code that can be shared through visitor centres, libraries, schools, public spaces, and online platforms—offering an interactive experience for residents and visitors alike.

Each sculpture features customised images and artworks contributed by your community through creative nature journaling activities. These artworks and photographs can be updated three times a year—ensuring the sculpture evolves with your place and people.

This initiative also includes a ‘Purchase a Petal’ fundraising program, which enables you to reward patrons to your conservation and education endeavours with a unique legacy in our Genestreaming AR sculptures. It may also be used to support research projects by both professionals and students.

In time, councils and communities may also choose to evolve their AR sculpture into a permanent physical Genestreaming Journey sculpture—a lasting artistic landmark celebrating community, creativity, and care for nature.

🌱 How to Get Started

Getting started is easy, and we’ll guide you through every step:

1. Subscribe
Local governments, tourism operators, schools or organisations can subscribe to the program via our website/platform.

2. Submit Your Regional Images
Once subscribed, we’ll contact you using your nominated email address to request two high-quality landscape images that represent your region. These will be used as the backdrop for your customised Genestreaming AR sculpture—one image for the interior, one for the exterior.

3. Share Your Sculpture
We’ll create your unique QR code and webpage URL, giving you and your community instant access to your sculpture.
You’re free to share this across digital platforms, visitor centres, schools, libraries, newsletters, or anywhere your audience connects.

🌿 How to Develop Community Nature Art & Photography Content

You have two creative options for your Genestreaming AR sculpture:

  • Display only the regional landscape images you’ve provided, or
  • Open it up to your community to contribute their own nature-inspired art and photography.

You may also choose to feature different themes for the inside and outside of your sculpture—such as local plant life on one side and a school or conservation project on the other.

If you’d like to invite community participation, here’s how it works:

1. Access the Explore Nature Journaling Resource Kit

Your subscription includes full access to the Explore Nature Journaling Resource Kit—a beautifully guided series of creative prompts, tutorials, and nature observation activities suitable for all ages and abilities.

2. Share the Access Coupon

We’ll send a unique access coupon to the email address you provided when subscribing. This coupon gives your community unlimited access to the Resource Kit for as long as your subscription is active.

3. Invite Creative Contributions

Your community can use the inspiration and guidance in the Resource Kit to create local nature sketches, artworks, photographs and more. These can then be submitted to you for consideration and inclusion in the Genestreaming AR sculpture—helping create a rich, local, community-driven expression of place, nature and care.

🌸 Purchase a Petal – How patronage & fundraising program works

You can also launch your own ‘Purchase a Petal’ fundraising campaign, offering supporters a way to leave their mark by contributing images or names on the sponsorship webpage associated with your project.

The Purchase a Petal program invites individuals, families, and organisations to contribute to local conservation and scientific initiatives—while becoming part of something beautiful and lasting.

Each contribution helps fund a meaningful local project, such as revegetation, habitat restoration, or ecological research. In return, the impact of their patronage is:

  • Celebrated visually on a digital petal within your region’s Genestreaming AR sculpture
  • Recognised (if desired) by name on the associated webpage, alongside a short description of the supported project

Every petal tells a story—of support, stewardship, and love for place. This is more than fundraising; it’s an invitation to grow a living digital monument to community action and care for nature.

Whether it’s supporting school-based research, or backing a local environmental group—this program gives patrons a way to make their values visible in a shared public artwork.

🌿 Developing a Physical Genestreaming Journey Sculpture

For communities ready to take the next step, we offer the opportunity to bring the Genestreaming experience into the physical world—with the creation of a permanent Genestreaming Journey Sculpture in your region.

This initiative transforms the digital storytelling of your local environment into a lasting public artwork, blending art, science, culture and conservation identity into one powerful community experience.

What’s Involved:

  1. Funding Support
Developing a physical sculpture requires funding, which may be sourced through council budgets, public grants, sponsorships, or community fundraising. We’re happy to provide support materials to assist in your planning or applications.
  2. Installation Team
Our professional team will work with your local stakeholders— from fabrication to guidance on installation—ensuring the sculpture fits your location, community, and vision.

The physical Genestreaming sculpture becomes a focal point for eco-tourism, education, and community engagement—a permanent marker of your region’s connection to the environment, creativity, and local storytelling. The physical sculpture can become a destination, a learning hub, and a community symbol—all in one.

And while the permanent sculpture offers a landmark destination, your Augmented Reality Genestreaming Sculpture can be experienced anywhere—shared via a simple QR code. These AR sculptures can be featured in local schools, visitor centres, libraries, cafés, and even private homes, making your region’s story widely accessible and beautifully interconnected.

Let us know if you’d like to explore this possibility—we’ll provide more tailored information to suit your timeline, location, and aspirations.

We look forward to hearing from you.
