Genestreaming National Sculpture Trail

Connecting Communities through Conservation, Education, Eco-Tourism & Cultural Awareness Trails

::

With the proven participation of communities across Australia and abroad the Genestreaming Sculptures National Trail program facilitates new possibilities for education, tourism & environmental awareness.

Genestream Journaling is a program that, through community nature journaling actives for all ages, facilitates input into Genestreaming Augmented Reality Sculptures and potential physical sculptures.

Through our Genestreaming Trails we have a strong interest in promoting an awareness of the existing conservation organizations, Museums, Parks, Geoparks, and environmental trails.

Through our Augmented Reality Genestreaming Sculptures we encourage school participation in developing nature inspired artworks for display.

At locations where physical sculptures are established community members will experience a unique Genestreaming sculpture featuring the artwork of First Nations artists of the region on the outside of the sculpture and field naturalist art focusing on local ecosystems, endangered species and their deep time shared ancestry on the inside of the sculpture.

Community Benefits

This educational tool offers broad community participation and connects people to people and people to place.

Genestream Journaling is a nature journaling program that will be available to the entire community via one subscription. Showcase your community’s nature journaling in an Augmented Reality Genestreaming Sculpture featuring dinosaurs and Earth’s story. Connect schools & tourism through art & science activities that deepen nature conservation engagement.

The sculpture will be part of the National Genestreaming Sculptures Trail. We currently have sculptures in Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. In the coming years our objective is to develop sculptures for all of the states and territories in Australia.

Your location for the sculpture will become part of a regional trail that we are developing with local partners as well as part of the National Trail.

The sculpture can be part of the sister region/city project through the Augmented Reality capacity.

Tourists to your region may take your Augmented Reality sculpture with them as a reminder of their experience via a QR code that we provide on a range of merchandise.

How our Sculptures are Ambassadors for the Tree of Life

The evolutionary tree of life, also known as a phylogenetic tree, is a diagram that visually represents the evolutionary relationships among all the different species or groups of organisms, tracing their lineage back to a common ancestor known as LUCA. It’s a way to understand how life has diversified over time and to show how closely related different organisms are related.

When people enter into a Genestreaming sculpture they are walking into a giant evolutionary tree which maps the shared ancestry of selected regional species through geological time. The sculptures have their origins in virtual reality teaching tools designed by Ben Beeton and used at the Australian National University to visualise details of the Tree of Life.

Genestream Journaling Subscription Program for Community Engagement

Subscription Program – $160 per month

The Genestreaming AR Sculpture with our Nature Journaling program connects communities across Australia and beyond—creating new ways to engage with tourism, conservation, education, and the visual arts.

Promote your special region in a truly unique way through our Augmented Reality sculptures. At its heart is a growing national trail of Genestreaming Augmented Reality (AR) Sculptures. These are digital art experiences informed by community participation through nature journaling activities and inspired by the unique ecology of each region. Every month we will update a panel with your community’s latest nature journaling artworks, photography and scientific documentation.

Local governments, tourism businesses, schools, and conservation organisations are invited to subscribe and host their own regional Augmented Reality sculpture. Each AR sculpture is accessible via a unique QR code that can be shared through visitor centers, libraries, schools, public spaces, and online platforms—offering an interactive experience for residents and visitors alike.

Your AR sculpture will feature 30 panels of photographs and artworks contributed by your community through creative nature journaling activities.

In time, councils and communities may also choose to evolve their AR sculpture into a permanent physical Genestreaming Sculpture—a lasting artistic landmark celebrating community, creativity, and caring for nature.

The Genestreaming Sculptures connect to an animated Augmented Reality experience which provides an account of the history of the Earth.

Step 2 of 3 Optional

Creating the art for the sculpture & undertaking research & design work

Genestreaming Artwork + Local Evolutionary Tree + Webpages

Package – $30,000

Fundraising Strategies

1) A private patron or grant

2) There are 30 panels to the artwork, patrons to this artwork may purchase a panel for $1000

3) We can hold an event that requires 60 groups or individuals to attend at $500 per group attending. When the 60 tickets have been sold the event will be held. The event will include an online presentation by the Genestreaming Sculptures team

Genestreaming sculptures feature the artwork of First Nations artists of the region or alternatively, a school project headed by a local indigenous artist, on the outside of the sculpture. Field naturalist art focusing on local ecosystems, endangered species, geological history, plate tectonics and mapping of the region is featured on the inside of the sculpture. Every location features a unique evolutionary tree which reflects the shared ancestry of these local species with humans.

A digital print which features all of the contributing artwork in the sculpture can be generated from this project. The Mount Magnet community placed their digital print in the local Visitors Information Center which has been very successful in promoting the project.

Every location features a unique phylogenetic tree which reflects the evolutionary stories of local species.

Genestreaming Sculpture Options

Fundraising – There are 15 petals to the sculpture, patrons to this public artwork may sponsor a petal.

Your physical sculpture in steel can be fabricated and installed once the art works and scientific research are completed through step 2. Installation cost is dependent on location and all pricing is informed by 2025 materials prices.

Option 1 – Original Genestreaming Sculpture – $89,000

::

Option 2 – Three way entrance Genestreaming Sculpture suitable for bicycles $120,000 to $150,000

Opening Event at the Singapore Gardens by the Bay Flower Dome

As part of a bike trail, we propose to develop a Genestreaming sculpture with three entrance and exit points. This design was first used at Singapore Gardens by the Bay it will enable people to ride in and out of the sculpture. The sculptures baseplate diameter will be 4 to 5 meters wide.

How we Promote Conservation & Cultural Awareness

As contributing details of the National Trail we are developing regional tourism trails

Augmented Reality Genestreaming Sculptures across the Bio-Regions of Australia.

We seek to work with aboriginal artists who have a connection to the region where we are creating a sculpture and when opening a sculpture we acknowledge the traditional owners of the region.

We have a strong interest in promoting an awareness of the local Aboriginal language where a Genestreaming sculpture is operating. We encourage school programs where students provide illustrations to accompany Aboriginal words and are guided by local Aboriginal artists.
